In 1999, about a century after Masseria Li Veli was founded, a group of investors, led by the historic Tuscan winery Avignonesi, a key player in the promotion of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Vin Santo since the early 1980s, purchased and reestablished Masseria Li Veli with the aim of creating a new, high-quality project in Puglia, a region with ancient and noble winemaking traditions and great potential for producing top-quality wines.
The project progressed in fits and starts and remained in limbo for several years, until 2008, when the company was fully acquired by brothers Edoardo and Alfredo Falvo, who launched an ambitious new corporate restructuring and brand repositioning project. Within a few years, the company's vineyards, production, and markets had grown significantly, making Masseria Li Veli one of Puglia's leading wineries in terms of product quality and brand awareness.
Brothers Edoardo and Alfredo still personally manage the company's operations today, with the collaboration of their cousin Alessandro, who joined the company in 2018.
