Polvanera was born from a long family tradition that has always had roots in viticulture.
Filippo Cassano, owner and winemaker, has always been aware of the potential of Primitivo in his area. Drawing on his father Vincenzo's experience and his education at the Basile Caramia winemaking school in Locorotondo, Filippo focused on pure winemaking, highlighting the indigenous grape and recognizable character of Puglia. Located between Acquaviva delle Fonti and Gioia del Colle, Polvanera is immersed in a unique landscape of vineyards, dry stone walls, and oak trunks.

The unusual and distinctive cellar is carved 8 meters into the limestone rock. This structure allows the wines to age at a constant temperature, combining practicality and beauty. Attached to the cellar is a historic farmhouse dating back to 1820, with a rustic feel, now used for hospitality.
The winery is located in a strategically located area of Puglia, home to a wealth of tourism and hospitality: just twenty minutes from both the Itria Valley and Matera. Harvest takes place in the first ten days of September. Modern pressing and winemaking facilities contribute to the organic offering. Together with his dedicated staff and the support of his family, Filippo Cassano continues to pursue an ambitious project aimed at promoting Primitivo and other native grape varieties, continually enhancing the quality of his products.
