Patitari Salento IGT Rosso Primitivo 2021
Of noble and ancient lineage, the Patitari family boasted illustrious men of letters and arms among their relatives.
In 1596, Laura Coppola married Francesco Patitari, son of Bartolomeo and Temperanza Prisco.
The brothers Salvatore and Francesco Patitari, artillery officers and Risorgimento patriots, and Nicola, a poet and writer who lived at the end of the 19th century, are still vividly remembered.
PAIRINGS
Pure Primitivo aged in oak barrels. Intense ruby red, warm and aromatic bouquet, full flavor; it embodies all the Mediterranean character of the land where it is grown. A pleasant yet characterful red influenced by the beneficial impact of the Ionian Sea. It pairs well with structured first courses, cured meats, spicy cheeses, pork and beef; homemade pasta like the classic orecchiette or the Salentine "sagne incannulate" with tomato and strong ricotta cheese. Also worth trying with a warm mortadella sandwich!
