The company began converting to organic farming in the 1980s, but noted that the vitality of its land was not progressing as it should, which is why it switched to biodynamic farming in 2000 following studies on the cultural legacy of Rudolf Steiner.
After a few years of biodynamic farming, he realized there was still something missing, and so, after understanding Masanobu Fukuoka's thinking, he finally began practicing a completely sustainable agriculture, one in which the synergies between all the ecosystem's links are truly established. This is synergistic agriculture, which eliminates the gravest mistake still made in all other types of agriculture (from conventional to organic to biodynamic): plowing.
This new adventure is being developed together with his wife Anna Maria and his four children: Carlo Nazareno, Domenico, Andrea, and Maria Clelia. It is thanks to their constant and responsible commitment that the current winery, constructed entirely of tuff stone, was built. These precise climatic conditions allow the estate's prized grapes to be enhanced without the use of chemicals. The arrival of the new generation, led by Francesco Valentino, who brings a wealth of experience, will only add momentum and vitality to the archetype.
